Variations
Ham/Bologna Salad: Use 1/4 pound (1/2-3/4 cup, diced) ham or bologna, ground in chopper, and add 1/8 cup shredded cheddar cheese.
Chicken Salad: Use 1/4 pound (1/2-3/4 cup, diced) cooked chicken, ground in chopper.
Other Variations: Almost any meat – leftover pot roast, leftover pork roast, processed meat, cooked poultry, canned meat or seafood – can be made into a Sandwich Salad. For this recipe, just replace the tuna with approximately 1/4 pound of cooked, diced meat processed in a chopper. Our standard salad includes egg whites, relish/pickles, diced tomato, and sometimes cheese… but you can add halved grapes, raisins, nuts, celery, or anything else that seems appealing.
