Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 2 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 Tbsp melted butter, shortening, or oil
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 2 chicken breasts
Directions
- Cook and shred chicken (see Cooked, Shredded Chicken).
- In large mixing bowl, mix together flour, salt, and baking powder.
- Add milk and oil and mix to form soft dough.
- Bring broth to boil in soup pot.
- Drop by tablespoonful* into boiling broth.
- Cover tightly and reduce heat to LOW.
- Steam without lifting lid for 12-15 minutes.
- Add meat back to stew and stir gently. Warm through without boiling.
- Serve over mashed potatoes.
