Tuna Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 can Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cans tuna, drained
  • 1 cup* peas, drained
  • 1/2 tsp salt, plus more for topping
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 3 cups dry rotini (half a 16 oz box)
  • 4-8 slices of bread
  • 4-6 Tbsp unsalted butter

Directions

  1. Preheat over to 375ยบ
  2. Cook pasta as directed on box, drain
  3. Mix soup, milk, salt, and pepper in large pot (can use same pot you cooked pasta in)
  4. Heat through over medium heat, stirring often
  5. Add tuna and peas, mix
  6. Add noodles, mix
  7. Transfer to 2-quart casserole dish
  8. Slice bread into four strips per slice. Arrange on top of casserole, covering entire dish.
  9. Melt butter and some salt (1/8 tsp per 4 Tbsp butter)
  10. Brush melted butter onto bread
  11. Bake 30 minutes or until toast is golden brown

Notes

*(1/2 15 oz can or 1 8 oz can)
You can one and a half OR double recipe for 3 quart casserole – bread topping will not be a straight conversion, use what is needed.
