Cheesy Ham and Broccoli Pasta Bake

Ingredients

  • 3 cups rotini pasta, dry
  • 2.5 cups frozen broccoli (preferably baby broccoli)
  • 3 Tbsp butter
  • 2 Tbsp flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1/3 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 2 5 oz cans chunked ham (or 1 1/3 cups equivalent)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter 2 quart casserole dish.
  2. Boil pasta in large pot for 9-11 minutes, adding broccoli to the boiling water for the last 3 min. of the pasta cooking time. Drain in colander.
  3. Rinse pot. Melt butter in large pot on medium-low heat. Stir in flour; cook and stir 2 min. or until smooth, bubbly, and fragrant. Gradually whisk in milk; bring to boil over medium heat, whisking constantly. Cook over medium-low heat 3 to 5 min. or until thickened, whisking constantly.
  4. Add cheeses; cook and stir 2 to 3 min. or until melted.
  5. Add ham to cheese sauce, stir. Add drained pasta and broccoli to cheese sauce, stir to coat.
  6. Spoon into prepared casserole dish. Bake 20 min. or until bubbly.
